Give a Meal this Seattle Restaurant Week

With fresh ingredients and dishes that span the gamut from traditional to wildly inventive, Seattle’s culinary scene has something for everyone — and this Seattle Restaurant Week is the perfect time to explore! We hope you’ll #CraveYourOwnPath and visit restaurants you’ve always wanted to try, or find new-to-you gems in your own neighborhood.

One thing that makes SRW even more special is the opportunity to donate to Give A Meal, a program that directly funds chefs and restaurants making free meals for our communities.

Restaurants like Mojito’s, Chi Minh Tofu Deli, and That Brown Girl Cooks! catering company have been making hundreds of free meals every week for years. These meals go to food banks, shelters, and sometimes directly distributed to those in need. These restaurants often dip into their own pockets to continue feeding our communities when other funding sources dry up.

The generosity of these chefs, even in spite of rising industry costs, continues at a crucial time. The number of people experiencing food insecurity has continued to rise since the pandemic. The 2024 Washington State Food Security Survey found that over half of reporting households experienced food insecurity, with two-thirds of households with children experiencing food insecurity. As prices continue to rise and federal funding for food programs is reduced, many more people will be at risk.

Head to our restaurant listing at srweek.org and select “Give A Meal” from the Values drop-down menu to view all SRW restaurants with opportunities to donate. Some restaurants will have a special QR code on their SRW menus that take you to a donation link. If you don’t see one, ask your server!

Seattle’s incredible restaurant community is all the more inspiring when we build a longer table, coming together to feed those in need.

For starters, here’s some participating SRW restaurants who support Give A Meal.

Anh Oi Bake Shop

Cookies for the “inbetween” Vietnamese-American experience, Anh Oi marries memory and nostalgia to local ingredients. “I started baking as a way to reconnect with my heritage and found that the recipes I grew up with could live inside something as simple as a cookie,” said owner Vince Vu. “Each flavor is both, always — rooted in Vietnam, shaped in America, and inspired by the in-between spaces of identity.”

For SRW, Anh Oi is offering a four-pack of cookies (each around a quarter pound), with flavors like fried banana, strawberry corn milk, Vietnamese coffee & white chocolate, and chocolate chunk. Check out the QR code for Give A Meal on their menu. Georgetown. $20.
